Mistrial declared in Danville racial discrimination lawsuit September 2, 2015 Richmond Times-Dispatch After a lengthy trial and deliberation, a federal jury was unable to reach a unanimous decision on a racial discrimination lawsuit Wednesday.

March 6, 2014 4th Circuit Court of Appeals Orders a New Trial on Race Claims Citing the District Court judge’s “abuse of judicial discretion”, a three judge panel of the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously ordered a new trial on Carnell’s race claims against the Danville Redevelopment and Housing Authority. The upcoming trial will be the 4th trial in this matter. Conducting four trials in the same federal District Court for the same case is rare.
